Skrew
Once described by Alternative Press magazine as 'the soundtrack to the Apocalypse', Texan industrial metal crew Skrew's unsettling take on atavism is concocted by Adam Grossman (vocals/guitar), Opossum (guitar), Brandon Workman (bass), Mark Dufour (drums), Jim Vollentine (keyboards) and Doug Shappuis (guitar). The band's origins can be traced back to the city of Austin in 1991 where they originally emerged as a duo, before expanding the group after the first album for live commitments. Singer, guitarist and lyricist Grossman remained the core of both incarnations. Tours with Corrosion Of Conformity and Prong in Europe followed, before a domestic jaunt prefaced studio work on a second album, this time as the full sextet. DUSTED thus arrived with a three-guitar frontal assault, with outstanding tracks including the sharpened hardcore stance of Jesus Skrew Superstar, while the equally disturbing Godsdog took a more experimental route.
