Dave Sharman
b. c.1970, England. Dave Sharman first rose to prominence in 1989 when he featured on a session for BBC Radio 1 DJ Tommy Vance's 'Friday Rock Show'. Comprising four instrumental selections, this proved such a success that producer Tony Wilson was allegedly alerting labels during recording. His debut album, titled after its year of release, saw rave reviews from both the metal and musician fraternities, with US magazine Guitar For The Practising Musician declaring Sharman 'Guitar God In Waiting'. Later, he was invited on the 'Night Of The Guitars' tour, where he shared a stage with Rick Derringer, Ronnie Montrose and others. A second album, EXIT WITHIN, was conceived when the guitarist met ex- Whitesnake bass player Neil Murray at an Ian Gillan audition, the duo linking with German vocalist Thomas Brache. The resultant Trucker and Frantic tracks were utilized by Radio 1's 'Rock Show' and used as theme music. A more solid band aggregation was sought for HERE 'N' NOW, with Sharman joined by Steve Wood (drums), Tom Jeffreys (bass) and a retained Brache on vocals. Titling the new band Graphic, they debuted with a set which comprised seven band compositions and three instrumentals.
