Bob Sargeant
This freelance multi-instrumentalist and vocalist was a denizen of the British ‘progressive’ rock scene in the '70s. As well as serving in the Mick Abrahams Band from 1971-72, he was hired for albums by Andy Roberts, Junco Partners and Patrick Campbell-Lyons (ex- Nirvana(UK)), and, briefly, to play keyboards in Curved Air. In 1975, he recorded FIRST STARRING ROLE, for RCA Records on which he was assisted by Herbie Flowers, Mike Garson, Cozy Powell and former Abrahams sideman, Jack Lancaster. This move to centre stage was, however, short-lived as Sargeant found production work more artistically, if not financially, rewarding—with the Monochrome Set and the Beat among the more famous of his later employers.
