Mick Ralphs
b. 31 May 1944, Hereford, England. Ralphs was a member of the Hereford-based act known variously as the Shakedown Sound, the Doc Thomas Group and Silence. They took the name Mott The Hoople in 1969 upon securing a recording deal with Island Records and Ralphs remained with the group for the next four years. This underrated lead guitarist then became a founding figure of the supergroup Bad Company and has remained at the helm throughout its turbulent history. In 1985 Ralphs released TAKE THIS, a low-key solo album, before resuming his role in the parent unit he has done much to fashion and maintain.
