This UK pop group comprised Tony Mansfield (guitar/keyboards/vocals), Tony Hibbert (bass), Phil Towner (drums) and Clive Gates (keyboards). They came to prominence after a minor hit in 1979 with Straight Lines, during 1980 with three pop/synthesizer hits on the GTO label, Living By Numbers, The World Of Water and Sanctuary. Mansfield regarded their debut FROM A TO B as rudimentary, but the succeeding ANYWHERE fared less well, despite its evident maturity. The change in style also took its toll on the band with the departure of Hibbert and Towner soon after its release. They were replaced by electronic percussionist Cliff Venner for the band's final and rather uninspired WARP. Full of empty electronic dance tracks it was notable for an daring attempt at the Beatles' ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE. However, sales were very poor and they soon disbanded. Mansfield went on to produce hits for Captain Sensible, Mari Wilson, Naked Eyes and worked on A-Ha's debut album HUNTING HIGH AND LOW.
