Aldo Nova
b. Aldo Caparucio. Nova is a virtuoso guitarist of Italian descent. He arrived onto the rock scene in 1981 with a self-titled debut of melodic AOR/pomp-rock that incorporated elements of Boston and Styx. Momentum was lost however, with SUBJECT, a disjointed and ultimately disappointing concept album. TWITCH made amends somewhat, with a return to smooth, sophisticated and melody-conscious symphonic rock. Disillusioned by the lack of media response and complex legal wrangles contractual commitments, he left the music business in 1985. After almost a six-year break, he was lured back into the studio by his good friend Jon Bon Jovi. Together they wrote the material for BLOOD ON THE BRICKS, a stunning collection of hard-rock songs, saturated with infectious hooks and inspired guitar breaks. The album was well received in the music press and drew comparisons with Bryan Adams, Europe and, naturally enough, Bon Jovi. It may prove the launching pad for the second phase of Aldo Nova's career.
