Adam Nussbaum
b. 29 November 1955, New York, USA. Nussbaum had initially learnt to play the piano and alto saxophone, then switched to studying drums with Charlie Persip and majoring in music at the Davis Centre, City College of New York. After freelancing in New York he played through the late '70s and '80s with the bands of John Scofield, Dave Liebman, Stan Getz, Gil Evans, Randy Brecker, George Gruntz and Gary Burton. Nussbaum has attained a wide knowledge of the history of jazz drumming. He has a bright, swinging style which he has been able to adapt to all these differing contexts.
