McDonald & Giles
Ian McDonald (b. 25 June 1946, London, England; keyboards/woodwind) and Mike Giles (b. 1942, Bournemouth, Dorset, England; drums) were founder members of King Crimson, but they left the group in December 1969, following an ill-tempered tour of the USA. Their lone album, MCDONALD AND GILES, displayed similarities to their former incarnation, while adding a freer, jazz-like atmosphere. The duo was assisted by Mike's brother, Peter, and Steve Winwood, but despite their potential, the partners embarked on separate careers. McDonald later became a founder member of Foreigner.
