Ian McLagan
b. 12 May 1945, London, England. The organist in the Muleskinners and Boz And The Boz People, McLagan was an established musician prior to joining the Small Faces in 1965. His distinctive style, redolent of Jimmy Smith, quickly became an integral part of the group's overall sound, and he remained an influential figure on their mutation into the Faces. When the latter group split in 1975, McLagan was tempted into the ill-fated Small Faces reunion before embarking on a solo album. TROUBLEMAKER featured assistance from several star names, including Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Stanley Clarke, but was a largely disappointing collection. The organist's distinguished work as part of the The Rolling Stones’ touring ensemble enabled him to relocate to the USA in the late '70s, where he carved out a successful career as a session musician playing alongside names such as Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, the The Everly Brothers, Bob Dylan and more recently, Georgia Satellites, Dogs D'Amour, Stray Cats and Bruce Springsteen.
