Bob Moore
b. 30 November 1932, Nashville, Tennessee, USA. A popular studio musician who progressed from bass player to Musical director for country star Red Foley and pop artists Brenda Lee and Connie Francis, Moore then toured with Elvis Presley. His accompaniments for Roy Orbisonearned him a solo contract with Monument Records ( London in the UK) for his own combo, which made an impression with singles like Hot Spot, My Three Sons and Mexico. The first and last were issued back to back in Britain, the second and third as Moore's contribution to the anthological DEMAND PERFORMANCE album, with other tracks by Orbison, Billy Grammer, Jerry Byrd, Jack Eubanks and the Velvets. Mexico reached number 7 in the US charts and earned Moore a Gold Disc in 1961, but this was the peak of his achievement. Two albums were issued on London in the late '60s but little else has been heard from him in recent years.
