Bill Medley
b. 19 September 1940, California, USA. After several successful years with the Righteous Brothers, Medley embarked on a solo career in late 1967. Several relatively barren years followed, until Medley received a major push from A&M in 1971. Again, no hits were forthcoming and, in 1974, the Righteous Brothers reunited. Medley's second attempt at a solo career took place in 1981, five years after the mysterious murder of his wife Karen. This time he enjoyed some minor hits, which reached fruition during the second half of the '80s with his contribution to the movie DIRTY DANCING. Collaborating with Jennifer Warnes, Medley found the perfect song in (I've Had) The Time Of My Life, which reached number 1 in the US charts. Further film-related material saw Medley enjoy minor successes, most notably with a cover of the Hollies’ He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother from the soundtrack of RAMBO III.
