Andy McMahon
b. 12 April 1926, Delhi, Louisiana, USA, d. 17 February 1984, Monroe, Louisiana, USA. McMahon played blues and hillbilly music in Mississippi and worked with Bukka White in Memphis, Tennessee, before moving to Chicago in 1949. During the '50s he worked with J.B. Hutto and Jimmy Dawkins, and played bass guitar for Howlin' Wolfand recorded during 1960-73. McMahon recorded under his own name for the Bea And Baby label in 1971, and as Blueblood for Dharma Records in 1973. After leaving Wolf, he led a band around the Chicago clubs and recorded a live album for MCM in 1976, following which he returned to his home state and left music. Although he was a limited singer, McMahon always seemed to attract all-star line-ups for his recording sessions.
