Lynch Mob
Following Dokken's acrimonious split, guitarist George Lynch and drummer Mick Brown recruited bassist Anthony Esposito and tempted vocalist Oni Logan away from the embryonic Cold Sweat to complete Lynch Mob. WICKED SENSATION was a decent hard rock debut, carried by Lynch's considerable ability, but youthful vocalist Logan's inexperience began to show through on the road. The band felt particularly uncomfortable when comparing Logan with Geoff Tate during a European tour with Queensr˙che, where the highlight of the set tended to be a rendition of Mr Scary, Lynch's Dokken-era instrumental guitar workout, and Logan was replaced by another relative unknown, Robert Mason, when touring was complete. LYNCH MOB incorporated more R&B influences, moving further from the Dokken sound, and this suited Mason's bluesy tones, while the band paid tribute to their influences with a cover of Queen's Tie Your Mother Down. However, neither album really took off, and Lynch split the band, opting to go solo while Brown rejoined Don Dokken.
