Love Unlimited Orchestra
This 40-piece orchestra was pieced together by singer Barry White to back his girl trio proteges, Love Unlimited. The unit also supplied the silky backing to several of White's singles and enjoyed an international hit in 1974 in their own right with Love Theme. Later releases, including Rhapsody In White and Satin Soul, were less successful, although they did provide the theme song to the Dino DeLaurentis remake of KING KONG (1977). One member, saxophonist Kenny G, later embarked on a solo career.
