Lotus Eaters
Rising from the ashes of the Wild Swans, Liverpool's Lotus Eaters enjoyed instant commercial success with a fragrant pop song The First Picture Of You, their debut single in June 1983. Revolving around Peter Coyle and Jeremy Kelly, the band never managed to repeat this Top 20 status again, despite four catchy follow-ups; You Don't Need Someone New later that year, Set Me Apart and Out On Your Own (both 1984) and a final stab, It Hurts (1985). Those who appreciate well-crafted, quality melodic pop should look no further than their only album, NO SENSE OF SIN, from 1984. Coyle and Kelly later reactivated the Wild Swans but were again unable to sustain significant interest.
