Bernie Leadon
b. 19 July 1947, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. A guitarist and singer, Leadon was a founder member of the Eagles. After leaving the group in 1976, he linked up with session guitarist/singer Michael Georgiades to cut NATURAL PROGRESSION—which had Eagles’ manager Irving Azoff on backing vocals. The album was a minor hit and contained the single You're The Singer. Throughout the '70s, Leadon worked on numerous recording sessions with such artists as Emmylou Harris, Danny O'Keefe, Dory Previn and Paul Kennerley, to whose concept album WHITE MANSIONS Leadon added guitar solos. In the UK, his instrumental Journey Of The Sorcerer (recorded originally for the Eagles’ ONE OF THESE NIGHTS) was used as the theme for the British cult radio series, THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. During the '80s Leadon remained a sought after session player and he briefly joined the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, playing on their 1988 album, WORKIN’ BAND. In 1992 Leadon was a member of the Remington's, a band in the style of all his previous conglomerations.
