K-9 Posse
K-9 Posse were the unhappy result of Arista Records attempting to gatecrash the hip hop party in the late '80s. The group were formed at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, by Wardell Mahone and Vernon Lynch. The two rappers were in need of a DJ and up to the decks stepped Terrence Sheppard in 1988. Conscious rhymes about Someone's Brother were present on their debut album, but no hit singles were forthcoming and the band soon disappeared from the face of the rap world.
