Eddie King
b. c.late '30s/early '40s, Alabama, USA. Eddie was orphaned in 1950 and eventually settled in Chicago, where he played in various blues clubs. He worked as a guitarist with Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Willie Dixon in the '50s before he began a long association with ‘Little’ Mack Simmons at the end of the decade. He recorded with Simmons and Detroit Junior and also released singles under his own name in the early '60s. He worked briefly with Willie Cobbs and he recorded further singles (sometimes in the company of his sister Mae Bee May) and in the '80s he had albums on the Wolf and Double Trouble labels. In the early '90s he was to be found working as lead guitarist for Koko Taylor.
