b. c.1900, USA. One of the finest of the women blues singers in Memphis, Hart was a strong-voiced, darkly sensuous singer, whose lyrics celebrated sex and drugs. She made a largely unissued session with the guitarists Allen Shaw and Willie Borum in 1934, and previous to this had recorded with the Memphis Jug Band. It is thought that she recorded in Chicago in 1938 as Hattie Bolten, which may have been her married or her maiden name. She had left Memphis by 1946, and her subsequent whereabouts are unknown.
