Green Jelly
Pinpointed as ‘this year's musical lowpoint’ by Rolling Stone magazine in 1993, Green Jello ended that same year being forced to change their name to Green Jelly, in order to avoid a lawsuit from General Foods. Initially conceived as a ‘video’ band, they rose to fame largely through this medium. Their breakthrough hit certainly boasted excellent animation, but little musical substance, allied as it was to a sort of psychedelic heavy metal version of popular nursery rhyme, Three Little Pigs. Like their follow-up, a cover version of the Sex Pistols' Anarchy In The UK, it was an exercise of limited merit.
