Allen Ginsberg
b. 3 June 1921, Paterson, New Jersey, USA. One of the most prominent poets of the 20th century, he also recorded several singles and albums, some including unaccompanied readings of his poetry, others featuring his writings set to music. Ginsberg originally aligned with the ‘beat’ movement of the '50s and '60s. He befriended and worked with many musicians through the years, among them Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, the Clash, John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, Phil Ochs, the Fugs, Pete Seeger and Phil Spector. He was a member of Dylan's 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue touring company.
