Marty Friedman
This technically brilliant guitarist has a long and impressive pedigree. Stints with Vixen, Hawaii and Cacophony helped formulate and define his characteristic quick-fire style, before embarking on a solo career. DRAGON'S KISSWAS an impressive instrumental debut, combining heavy-duty riffs and intricate solos with Far Eastern influences and undertones. Friedman later went on to produce speed-metallers Apocrypha, before commencing work on a second solo project. This was put on hold after he accepted an invitation to join Megadeth in February 1990, though it did finally emerge three years later. By INTRODUCTION the guitarist had moved on to a spacious, new-age technique, on a set more expansive in tone that anything he had previously recorded in the rock field.
