Julia Fordham
b. 10 August 1962, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England. Formerly one of Mari Wilson's backing vocalists, the Wilsations, Fordham embarked on a solo career in 1986 as the archetypal angst-woman of the '80s. Having achieved an initial UK chart hit with the Top 30 Happy Ever After (which also reached number 1 in Japan) in 1988, Fordham made her biggest impact in the UK the following year with Where Does The Time Go which reached number 4. The self-titled debut album and the follow-up both reached the UK Top 20. These releases, and the subsequent SWEPT, all on the Circa label have established the singer with her ‘30 something’ audience, enabling her to perform headlining dates at venues such as London's Royal Albert Hall.
