Bruce Foxton
b. 1 September 1955, Woking, Surrey, England. Following the break-up of the Jam, guitarist Foxton set out on a predictably difficult solo career. During the summer of 1983, he enjoyed UK Top 30 success with Freak. His strong, straightforward pop, with often distinct Jam overtones, was generally well-produced, with Steve Littlewhite's This Is The Way, proving particularly effective. In 1984, Foxton released TOUCH SENSITIVE, which featured all-original compositions and another solid production. While deserving chart success, Foxton's work has, not surprisingly, been compared unfavourably with that of the Jam and, consequently, his solo career has suffered.
