Eurogliders
Although beginning in Perth, Scotland in 1980 as a full-time permanent band, the Eurogliders are now basically a duo based around songwriter Bernie Lynch and talented vocalist Grace Knight. The band's early work was new wave-influenced, but as the group progressed, its sound became a very competent rock/pop/soul mixture, featuring Lynch's excellent songs and tight playing from the band. Each album provided charting singles such as Without You (1982), Heaven (1984), We Will Together, City Of Soul, Can't Wait To See You (all from 1985). The band then hit a dry spell before re-emerging as the duo in 1988, but unable to recapture the wide popularity of the earlier days. Despite having little experience singing jazz, Grace Knight recorded a jazz album with jazz maestro Vince Jones in 1990.
