Bobby Edwards
b. Robert Moncrief, Anniston, Alabama, USA. Edwards placed one single near the US Top 10 in 1961 but was unable to follow it with another hit. He was a member of a group called the Four Young Men, which recorded non-hits for such labels as Dore, Delta and Crest. Edwards then recorded under his own name for Bluebonnet; that record, Jealous Heart, was also issued on Manco Records. The country-influenced You're The Reason was released on Crest, and reached number 11, after which Edwards recorded a follow-up, What's The Reason?, for Capitol Records. He continued to record country songs throughout the '60s but never repeated his one brush with success.
