Figgy Duff
This group from Newfoundland, Canada, comprises Pamela Morgan (vocals/guitar/whistle/keyboards), Dave Panting (vocals/mandolin/guitar), Geoff Butler (accordion/whistle), Derek Pelley (bass/vocal) and Noel Dinn (multi-instrumentalist). Mixing Celtic and Gaelic influences, the group essentially followed the folk rock path. Mixing traditional and contemporary tunes and songs, FIGGY DUFF, released in 1980 in the USA, was not released until 1982 in Europe. Although the follow-up, AFTER THE TEMPEST, received more attention and attracted good reviews, it still failed to give the group a higher profile. Sadly, Noel Dinn died of throat cancer 26 July 1993.
