Doctor & The Medics
This psychedelic pop-rock outfit came to prominence in 1986 with a cover of Norman Greenbaum's Spirit In The Sky. The single hit number 1 in the UK, but they found it difficult to consolidate their success, with the subsequent Burn and Waterloo only achieving UK chart placings of 29 and 46 respectively. LAUGHING AT THE PIECES peaked at number 25 in the charts, primarily on the back of major single success. Since then, every release has sunk without trace and the band were dropped by their label.
