DNA
This US band was a short-lived collaboration between guitarist Rick Derringer and drummer Carmine Appice. With the assistance of Duane Hitchings (keyboards) and Jimmy Johnson (bass), they released PARTY TESTED in 1983. This featured a wide range of styles that included jazz, rock, funk, blues and pop. The playing was beyond criticism, but the songs were devoid of soul, and the album as a whole lacked unity and cohesion. Failing to win support in the media, DNA disintegrated when Carmine Appice accepted the offer to join Ozzy Osbourne's band. He subsequently formed King Kobra.
