Danger Danger
This melodic and atmospheric hard rock band were formed in 1988 by former Michael Bolton bassist Bruno Ravel. Enlisting the services of Ted Poley (ex- Prophet vocalist), Kasey Smith (keyboards), Steve West (drums) and Tony Rey (guitar), their style lies somewhere between White Lion and Bon Jovi. They were picked up by Imagine Records and debuted with a self-titled album in 1989. Produced by Lance Quinn and Mike Stone, this featured an impressive collection of infectious rockers and dynamic power-ballads. Rey quit to concentrate on his other project, Saraya, in 1989, and was replaced by Andy Timmins. Signing to Epic, they released SCREW ITin 1992, which built on the solid foundations of their debut, but included a greater element of arrogant street attitude. It revealed considerable crossover potential which, with careful nurturing, could produce a major songwriting force.
