Corvettes
This Los Angeles, USA country-rock band was founded in 1968 by Chris Darrow (guitar/vocals) and Jeff Hanna (guitar/vocals), both ex-members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. John London (bass) and John Ware (drums) completed the line-up featured on the act's two singles, Back Home Girl/Beware Of Time and Level With Your Senses/Lion In Your Heart, but this promising quartet was unable to find commercial success. In January 1969 they became the backing group for Linda Ronstadt, touring with the singer as she promoted HOME GROWN. Bernie Leadon replaced Hanna in May when the latter rejoined the Dirt Band, but by September the Corvettes had disbanded. Darrow then pursued a solo career, Leadon switched to the Flying Burrito Brothers, while Ware and London became founder members of Mike Nesmith's First National Band.
