Clouds
As part of the expanding UK progressive music boom in 1969, the musically competent Clouds sadly failed to capture record buyers' imagination. Billy Ritchie (keyboards), Harry Hughes (drums) and Ian Ellis (bass), made the trek to London to find fame and fortune. They had previously been members of various Scottish bands but left their homeland in November 1966 and were signed to Robert Stigwood's NEMS Group as One Two Three. They supported Jimi Hendrix at his famous Saville Theatre gig but were dropped soon afterwards by the tough Stigwood. The Chrysalis agency signed and rechristened them Clouds. They made two interesting albums before they disintegrated, unable to find a niche amongst an overcrowded progressive music scene.
