Candy Flip
Seemingly one-hit wonders, Candy Flip comprised of Ric Peet (b. Richard Anderson-Peet, c.1970, Merseyside, England) and Dizzy Dee (b. Daniel Spencer, c.1970, Stoke, Staffordshire, England). They originally joined the British house band This Ain't Chicago who released Ride The Rhythm on the Club label. By the time of Candy Flip, they were dressed in psychedelic flares, boots and shirts which saw them earmarked as part of the Madchester '60s revival. As a duo their first release was the minor club hit Love Is Life. However, a cover of the Beatles' Strawberry Fields Forever earned them their first UK chart success. Originally intended as a b-side to Can You Feel The Love, it was perfect fodder for the second summer of love generation. The follow-up, This Can Be Real, and its successors failed to make the Top 50.
