Ronee Blakley
b. Idaho, USA. Blakely emerged from the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter milieu of the early '70s. RONEE BLAKELY, an accomplished country-rock collection, drew considerable critical acclaim and in turn inspired film director Robert Altman to cast the artist in his film NASHVILLE (1975). WELCOME, which featured the crack Muscle Shoals houseband, was another crafted selection, but the singer is best recalled for her participation in Bob Dylan's informal touring ensemble, the Rolling Thunder Revue (1976). Blakely's subsequent ambition to form a new wave-influenced unit floundered, and she has latterly pursued an acting career.
