Gary Brooker
b. 29 May 1945, Essex, England. The ex-Paramounts and the former lead vocalist/pianist of Procol Harum embarked on a solo career immediately after their demise. His solo albums were mainly unsuccessful and sold only moderately. Brooker's distinctive voice and excellent keyboard ability has kept him busy both as a session player, and as a member of touring bands. He was a regular member of Eric Clapton's band during the late '80s. Brooker has achieved rock immortality by being the vocalist and co-writer of the legendary hit A Whiter Shade of Pale. A full circle was completed in 1991 when Brooker reformed Procol Harum.
