BulletBoys
This American hard rock quartet was formed in 1987 by Mike Sweda (guitar, ex-King Kobra) and Marq Torien (vocals, ex-Ratt). They were joined by Lonnie Vincent (bass) and Jimmy D'Anda (drums) and took their musical lead from AC/DC, Van Halen and Montrose. Championed by producer Ted Templeman, they signed to Warner Brothers and recorded their debut the following year. Torien's flamboyant persona atracted comparisons with David Lee Roth, while Sweda's guitar effects were based on a style first made famous by Eddie Van Halen. FREAKSHOW saw the band broaden their musical horizons and incorporate blues and funk influences into the basic hard rock structures.
