Brutality
One of the most popular acts to emerge out of Florida, USA's burgeoning death metal scene, Brutality had actually developed over several years following formation in 1988. As is typical of the genre, they subsisted in these early days via the demo network, though there were also two singles (Hell On Earth, Sadistic) for European label Nuclear Blast. These introduced Brutality's trademark sound, aggressive, purging rhythms topped by Scott Reigel's distinctive vocals. The violence of the sound, more fully visited on debut album SCREAMS OF ANGUISH and the subsequent WHEN THE SKY TURNS BLACK, was all-encompassing.
