b. Detroit, Michigan, USA. A self-avowed ‘Born Gangsta’ pushing hardcore rap feminism into new territories, Boss announced her intentions with the inviting debut 45, I Don't Give A Fuck, a phrase regularly repeated on her debut album. Originally operating alongside partner MC Dee, the album detailed their experiences on the streets of South Central, Los Angeles, and New York. The overriding factor was to encourage women to take control of their own lives, rather than expecting the benevolence of a male figure to help them out. In turn she has set up her own production company, Boss Productions, to help other aspiring hip hop stars in Detroit. She also completed soundtrack work, recording Run, Catch, And Kill for the Mi Vida Loca movie.
